Maintenance taskRecommended frequency
⚠️ This is a general, typical maintenance plan for guidance on frequency. The actual maintenance plan for specific equipment must be based on manufacturer recommendations, usage conditions and prior failure history.

This result is an indicative decision-support aid, not a manufacturer’s maintenance manual.

How the calculation works

You choose the machine type (CNC, conveyor, press, pump, HVAC or general) and the criticality (high, medium, low). The plan contains six standard tasks (visual inspection, cleaning, lubrication, consumables, fasteners, full inspection) and three machine-type-specific tasks. The base interval is multiplied by a criticality factor (0.5 / 1 / 1.5) and the result is shown as a frequency from daily to yearly.

Example: a CNC machine of medium criticality gives 9 tasks; at high criticality the full-inspection interval halves from 365 days to 183 days.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the plan as it is?

It is a good basis. Refine it with the manufacturer’s manual and your own operating conditions.

Why does criticality change the interval?

A more critical machine must be checked more often to reduce the probability of failure.

Where do I find the criticality?

Methodology and limitations

Methodology based on standard industry calculations and Maintest’s practical industrial experience. This tool provides a planning estimate and does not replace project-specific engineering assessment. This tool is a screening and planning aid developed by Maintest. Results are indicative and depend entirely on the figures and answers you enter. They are not an engineering calculation, a safety assessment or a substitute for the manufacturer’s instructions, applicable standards or professional judgement. Weights, benchmarks and default values are Maintest planning assumptions and can be adjusted to your situation. Do not use this tool as the only basis for safety-critical decisions such as lifting, electrical work or lockout procedures.
