Risk is assessed with 17 questions in five weighted categories: planning and schedule (20%), technical complexity (25%), staff and know-how (15%), production continuity (25%), and financial and contractual risk (15%). Unlike the other checklists, a higher score means higher risk. The result is 0–100 with a radar chart: low, moderate or high risk.
Example: if only technical complexity (25%) and production continuity (25%) are rated at maximum risk and the rest at zero, the result is 50/100, i.e. “moderate risk”.
Frequently asked questions
What does a high score mean?
High risk means the relocation needs a thorough plan, prior mapping and resources. It does not mean you should not relocate.
How can I reduce the risk?
Map the machines and connections, label the cables, plan transport and allow a time buffer. We take these steps in our own relocation projects.
When should I assess the risk?
As early as possible, before signing contracts and locking the schedule.
