A metalworking company based in Tallinn wanted to reduce the manual workload of its employees and make the pallet-building process faster and more efficient. Under the previous work arrangement, specialists had to physically build pallets from boxes weighing up to 35 kilograms in order to dispatch orders. This was heavy and time-consuming work that strained employees and slowed down the production process.
Maintest Grupp OÜ took on the task of finding a solution and carried out the project in cooperation with Maimach OÜ. A collaborative palletizing robot was installed at the company, together with an accompanying electric conveyor system. The solution was designed to fit the existing production line and to take over precisely those work steps that were physically the most demanding for employees.
The project took 4 months to complete, during which both the collaborative robot and the conveyor system were installed and configured, ensuring smooth integration into the client’s production process. As a result, the company’s order-picking specialists no longer have to lift and manually build heavy pallets themselves. The collaborative robot does this work for them, freeing up employees’ time and energy for more complex and more valuable tasks.
The project proved successful and showed the client that robotization is the right direction for automating its production processes. This example shows how well-considered cooperation between technical partners can bring real benefits: reducing physical strain, increasing work efficiency and laying the foundation for further automation steps. Maintest Grupp will continue to offer similar solutions to companies that want to make their production more modern and more employee-friendly.
