⚠️ The schedule assumes the full weekly capacity is available for planned work and that tasks are done strictly in priority order. New urgent work (failures) will push the actual schedule back.

How the calculation works

You enter up to six maintenance tasks (name, hours, priority) and the team’s weekly capacity in hours. Tasks are sorted by priority, cumulative hours are divided by the weekly capacity, and each task’s finishing week is rounded up (cumulative hours ÷ capacity). The summary shows backlog hours, weeks to clear it and the number of high-priority tasks.

Example: tasks of 4, 6, 2, 3, 1 and 8 h (two high, two medium, two low) and a capacity of 10 h a week give 24 h in total, 3 weeks and 2 high-priority tasks.

Frequently asked questions

What is a maintenance backlog?

Necessary maintenance work that has not been done and has accumulated because of lack of time, spare parts or resources.

How can I reduce the backlog?

Increase capacity, add temporary crews or postpone low-priority work. Do the critical jobs first.

Does the planner account for new work?

No. The result assumes no new work arrives, so the real time is usually longer.
